Viña Sol was founded in 1962 and is owned by the Torres family. The Torres family founded their first winery in Penedès in 1870. Viña Sol wines are designed to have an approachable palate and an ability to pair well with a wide variety of dishes. The Mediterranean sun on their bottle labels is homage to the Mediterranean sun that was stamped on barrels shipped from Spain to Cuba and Puerto Rico in the early 1900s.

The Mediterranean White Blend is primarily a blend of White Garnacha and Parellada, a local grape variety, harvested from vineyards throughout the Penedès. The Parellada were harvested in late September and the White Garnacha grapes were harvested in late August. The grapes were fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks for 14 days.
